Ever wonder why your Website isn’t ranking higher in search engines such as Google? During this 2-hour clinic we will give you the insight, knowledge and tools to go from invisible to searchable in just a few steps, with a better understanding of the mechanics of good Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Why should you care?
Because today, more than ever, everybody from residents to visitors to our communities are using search engines and mobile devices (smart phones, iPads) to search for what’s most relevant to them, when and where they need the information. Increasingly, these searches are contextually related, showing returns that are based upon the location of the person doing the search.

If you’re a business, and you’re not showing up in search returns when people need you, they won’t even know you exist. Without getting ranked so that you’re noticed, you’re literally invisible to prospects and customers.
Jeff Sliger and Carl Larson, both of the Seattle SEO Network, will provide the background about Search Engine Optimization and will share the essential elements for SEO success.
In the context of social media, they will explain why it doesn’t matter if you have 500 likes on Facebook if you’re not showing up in search returns.
Jeff will be giving a brief history of marketing online and the changes search engines have gone through to the present, and some tools to help with search optimization. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of what search engines are looking for and the tools they need to improve their own search engine ranking.
Carl will be giving a quick overview of what small businesses need to know about Local SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
- Why you should care about Google Places and how to use it to generate phone calls
- Other directories (Yelp, Tripadvisor, Urban Spoon)
- Getting a steady stream of positive reviews and dealing with reputation issues
Attendees will walk away with a short list of action items they can perform themselves to improve their business’ visibility and sales.
Being found online can be the difference between keeping your doors open and exceeding in your business when it comes to local searches.
This two hour investment in time with two of Seattle’s top SEO experts will be an investment in your business’ or organization’s success.
Speakers

Jeff Sliger, Director of Ethics, Seattle SEO Network
Jeff Sliger heads up SEO tools development for ASEOPRO, and RankFixer.com designed to serve online marketers from novice to professional. ASEOPRO is a Search Marketing Service company based in the Northwest. Jeff has been in business since before the internet, marketing products nationwide through traditional methods. When the web went public he could see the potential for small business to market products more quickly and efficiently by reaching customers directly. After figuring out search engine marketing for his own company, Sliger began to offer his expertise to other small to medium business clients across the country. As lead SEO for ASEOPRO found in talking with clients that some of the basic concepts of search marketing were more easily explained by comparison, so he developed RankFixer as a means to compare detailed information on up to five websites at a time.
